Love this location. The waterfront has SO many offerings. Wonderful place to walk around and enjoy the area. The Willamette Valley Vineyard tasting room/restaurant experience was lovely. The food was really really good. Ordered the Porcini Crusted Salmon (great), Cavatappi with shrimp (tasty, a heavy portion for sure), seasonal Strawberry salad with shrimp (delicious!). Lindsay was on top of things, even through she had several tables. It was a gorgeous day, so the doors were open to the outside, which was wonderful. The ONLY complaint is that the shrimp had tails on them in the salad (and the Cavatappi) and it is extremely difficult to remove them without getting messy or testing your surgical skills. We will be back. The food, service and atmosphere was GREAT!
Best brussel sprouts and carrot cake I've had ... ever! I had the strawberry salad which was like eating a whole meal, not the usual "I wish I had ordered a steak" feeling. The vinaigrette was just right - not too sweet, not too oily. Off my family's plates I tried the chicken which was marinaded perfectly and the shrimp which came in a sauce so good, we ordered a cup of the sauce to go for home. Both Vic and Jeffery were outstanding waitstaff, very welcoming and always anticipating our needs. Jeffery is also a sommelier and it showed. The wine choices he helped us with paired perfectly with our meal. We'll be back, for sure.
Appetizers are good. We had a nice selection of the appetizers. The entrees were just OK. The steak was good. The location and atmosphere are stellar. Its a wine tasting establishment which was quite nice and with a good price. But, while the service and atmosphere would jndicate a 5 star restaurant. It was a bit disappointing.
July update - red meat is back. Hope it stays this time 2-8 update, still no red meat on the dinner menu. No reason to visit until they get back to having a good menu. 11-9-24 update We did the wine blending experience last night. Dietrich makes this an exceptional experience and is the reason myself and 2 of my friends became owners. He really guides you through the process and helps you understanding blending. However, 30 minutes is not enough time, this needs to be closer to an hour to fully appreciate and enjoy the process. Only disappointment of the night is for reasons unknown they have removed all red meat from the daily menu, we almost left our dinner reservation when we saw steak wasn't being offered anymore. We will return when the steak comes back and update the stars. Original review when then they had a real dinner menu. Another hit winery for the Vancouver Waterfront. The food is great, the staff is knowledgeable in the wines and is there to help. As they staff up and get all the services available this is going to be a must visit place. Get in now before it becomes too popular. The wine club is a great and flexible, you buy what you want not what they want to send, another plus for WVV
Tiffany was our hostess at the Willamette Valley Vineyards along the Columbia River, and she was awesome. Super knowledgeable about the history of the vineyard, all the different wine offerings, and she gave excellent recommendations and tasting notes. Our charcuterie board and oysters were delicious. They featured local honeycomb from the Willamette Valley and oysters from Totten Inlet, which made it feel extra special and we loved the “local” vibe. We especially loved the White Pinot Noir (we ended up buying 6 bottles). Tiffany explained that it comes from separating the grape juice from the skins almost immediately, so it doesn’t take on that typical dark red color. The taste isn’t as tannic as your usual Pinot Noir. I thought it was light, refreshing, and smooth… I could EASILY polish off a whole bottle myself. The welcoming staff, relaxed atmosphere, and beautiful views make this a must-do if you’re in the Vancouver area.
This place was exactly what we were looking for with great wines, and a very nice cheese board. They had great views of the river, and beautifully designed interior. Our server was perfect in visiting our table enough, but not too much, was very friendly. The pricing was typical of nicer wineries. I would recommend to my friends without hesitation.
Incredible view of the river. We happened to go on a very beautiful afternoon and sit on the patio, felt like being on a cruise. We were brought a sample of wine as soon as we sat down. Staff is professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. Glasses are fairly priced and the food options all sounded incredible, but we were just stopping in for drinks. Would be a great place for a first date, an adult birthday party, or really any get-together. The interior is gorgeous. We'll have to come back for dinner and a bottle soon.
